Canadian Government Documents

About the collection

The University of Georgia Libraries is a selective depository for publications of the Government of Canada. These publications are housed on the 2nd floor of the Main and Science Libaries, with a large portion of the collection being housed at the Repository. Selected documents of Canadian government departments and of Parliament are included in this collection. Canadian documents published since 2001 may be identified using GIL. Canadian documents published since 1992 may be identified using the online database of Canadian Government Documents. For earlier Canadian documents, please ask for assistance at the Main or Science Reference desk.

The publications of the provinces and city governments of Canada are not publications of the Government of Canada. Any publications from these levels of government would be in the Libraries' general collection and can be located through GIL.

Canadian documents are shelved using the Canadian Document Catalogue Number. The word "Canada" is added as a prefix to this number to complete the call number used in this collection.
