Your UGA MyID gives you access to GIL, the library catalog, as well as off-campus access to our GALILEO databases.   This log on is the same log on you use to access your UGA mail account.  You’ll be able to check out books, access e-reserves, and check the status of materials you have checked out by viewing your library account.

Obtain a library account

If you want to request materials through our Interlibrary Loan Department, you’ll need to have your full barcode number.   The barcode number is located on your UGA identification card.  The 16 digit number is a combination of your Athena number and a numerical prefix.   If you don’t have a card, contact Access Service and they will ensure that you have the full barcode number you’ll need for Interlibrary Loan requests for materials from other libraries.

Password for UGA Databases

In order to access University of Georgia licensed databases from off-campus, you can use your UGA MyID or the current GALILEO password for the UGA Libraries. Access to UGA licensed databases is available to currently enrolled students, UGA faculty, and staff. GALILEO Login

Need one-on-one assistance with your project?

As a distance learner, it may be difficult for you to stop by the reference desk or schedule a face-to-face conference with a librarian. However, we provide telephone or chat sessions to accommodate your schedule. Please call us and set up a meeting with a subject area specialist.
