Types of Giving

Direct Gift
By check or credit card, payable to The UGA Foundation.  To charge your gift to your credit card, please call (706) 542-8176.

On-line giving
UGA promises to protect your personal information.  Our secure server protects your information using advanced encryption and firewall technology.

Securities
The full-market value of gifts of appreciated securities is tax deductible.  In most cases, appreciation in the value of the security benefits the Libraries and is not taxable to the donor.

Matching Gifts
Many employers will match employees' gifts to the Library.  Send a gift (payable to The UGA Foundation) accompanied by a matching gift form obtained from the employer's personnel or employee relations office.

Real Estate
Real property, either in its entirety of in part, can be deeded to The Arch Foundation to benefit the Libraries.  It is possible to arrange a sizable tax deduction by deeding a home to the Libraries, while continuing to occupy the property for life.

Charitable Gift Annuity
Donors may transfer money, securities or real estate in trust to the Library and receive income for themselves or another for life.  The trust can be managed by The Arch Foundation.  Donors may receive immediate tax benefits, income for life, and ultimately the Library receives the trust property.

Bequests
In writing a will or living trust, a donor can specify that they would like their estate to benefit the UGA Library.  In recognition of alumni, friends, faculty and staff who have chosen to benefit the University through planned giving, they are welcomed as members of the Heritage Society.  Planned gifts include gifts through wills, living trusts, charitable trusts, charitable gift annuities, retirement plans or other estate planning arrangements.
