Guided Tours

All guided tours of the Capitol are free. Tour schedules change frequently.

Once a tour is scheduled an e-mail tour confirmation will be sent along with our Tour Information Guide containing up-to-date tour and parking information. View our online calendar for available tour times.

January through March

Tour descriptions can be found below. Due to the legislative schedule these tours may or may not include a guided visit to the legislative galleries.

A guided tour will last between 20 and 30 minutes. You can visit our museum exhibitions, located on the fourth floor, following your tour/orientation. We recommend 30 minutes to explore the museum (free).

Guided Group Tours (10-60 visitors)

**Reservations are required**

Monday – Friday at 10:00 AM, 10:30 AM, 11:00 AM and 11:30 AM

April through December

If there is not a guided tour that fits your schedule, groups of any size may do a self-guided tour Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm with no reservations. Print your self-guided brochure here.

Guided Walk-in Tour (1–9 visitors)

**No Reservations Required**

Monday – Friday at 11:30 AM

Visitors on the 11:30 AM tour may need to join a larger, scheduled tour group (usually elementary school students). This tour will be provided even if there is not a larger group scheduled at 11:30 AM on the day of your visit.

Visitors should check-in at the capitol tour desk located on the 2nd floor at 11:20 am.

General Guided Tour Description

This comprehensive tour provides visitors with an introduction of the principles of democratic government in Georgia. Through an interactive discussion (with student groups) the guide will help visitors learn about democracy and representative government. During the tour your guide will describe the history of Georgia’s capitals, point out unique features of this building, recognize important figures from Georgia history, and provide fun facts about Georgia.
