As part of the Spotlight on the Arts at UGA, the Special Collections Libraries are holding special tours of the three-story subterranean vault that holds our unique, rare, priceless artifacts! Join us at 2 p.m. for a guided tour of the three museum galleries of the Special Collections Libraries, a collection of historical football memorabilia and a trip to the vault, normally closed to the public. Meet in the second floor Rotunda. The tour will take about 1.5 hours and is open free to the public.
Tours of the museum galleries are offered each Tuesday at 2 p.m. On Nov. 8 (Friday) and Nov. 22, guided tours will also be given at 3 p.m.
A sampling of current exhibits includes the observance of the 100th birthday of Dr. Eugene Odum, the father of modern ecology, and the Georgia Writers Hall of Fame 2013 inductees in the Hargrett Gallery; Media focuses on the 1960s in broadcast and the Russell Library examines groundbreaking legislation and events of 1973.
