Albert Goldbarth display and poetry reading

April 3, 2012 – 1:33 PM

Albert Goldbarth, acclaimed poet, novelist, and essayist and the only living two-time winner of the National Book Critics Circle Award for poetry, is the current focus of the west side display cases in the Main Library lobby.  The display is up for just one week so be sure not to miss it.

“With seemingly effortless and inexhaustible aesthetic/philosophical inventiveness, Goldbarth draws upon the microscopic, the cosmic, and every level in between as fit fuel for his body of work—as if he were some hungry god staring into the cosmic refrigerator and thinking, “Hmmm . . . pureed pickles and yogurt on a chocolate-syruped raw egg—why not?” [ Georgia Review Editor Stephen Corey, Winter 2009]

Wednesday, April 4, Albert Goldbarth will be in Athens to present a 7:00 pm reading at CINE, (234 West Hancock Avenue.)  Sponsored by The Georgia Review and the Willson Center for the Humanities and Arts, the event is free and open to the public.
