Lynda.com tech tutorial trial

September 9, 2011 – 3:08 PM

EITS has partnered with Lynda.com to give UGA students, faculty and staff a free, premium subscription to Lynda’s online tutorial library from Sept. 1 through Sept. 30, 2011. The Lynda library has thousands of professional videos that guide users through design, web development and the digital arts. Industry-recognized experts train beginners and professionals in a wide-range of subjects, software and websites. At the end of the month-long trial, we will survey Lynda users at UGA to gauge interest in a longer-term contract.

To sign up:

Go to http://iplogin.lynda.com/ while on campus. On the right, you will see “Create a Personal Profile.” When prompted to enter your email, use your @uga.edu address. You must be on campus to sign up for and access Lynda.com. For assistance with signing up for an account, call the EITS Help Desk at 706-542-3106. Enjoy! You can find more information on the EITS Facebook page.

  2. Absolutely love the free Lynda.com trial. I think this is an awesome idea for faculty, staff, and students. Ideally, it would be great if the free membership could continue as long as we have an active MyID. However, if that’s not possible, perhaps negotiate a hugely reduced rate for a premium membership? I would be happy to pay $10 -$15/month.

Once again, props to whomever made this possible. Thanks!
