10/9 Italian Film Series – “Mamma Roma”
October 9, 2006 – 11:25 AM
MAMMA ROMA (1962, 110 min)
dir. Pier Paolo Pasolini
SLC Room 248
Monday, Oct. 9, 7:30 PM
The Italian Film series, sponsored by the UGA Libraries Media Department, kicks off this Monday at 7:30 PM with Pasolini’s “Mamma Roma.” The director’s second film is notable for its unflinching (and at the time, controversial) portrayal of urban poverty and serves as an interesting contrast to Roberto Rossellini’s neorealist classic “Rome, Open City.” The screening will be held in room 248 of the Student Learning Center and a short discussion will follow the film.
The event is free and open to the public. This is a “blue card” event.
If you miss a screening this month, all the films in this series are available to watch in the Media Department, 7th floor of the Main Library.
