A Celebration of Children, Books and Cultures at the CML

March 20, 2009 – 11:49 AM

On April 7, between 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm, the CML will host a Celebration of Children, Books and Cultures. This program is for children of all ages, in conjunction with the American Library Association program, El día de los niños/El día de los libros. For more information, please visit https://cs.ala.org/websurvey/alsc/dia/

A Celebration of Children, Books and Cultures is sponsored by the Libraries, the Language and Literacy Education Department, and the Center for Latino Achievement and Success in Education (CLASE). This event is open to anyone with an interest in children’s literature and will feature international children’s literature, readings of children’s books by LLE & CLASE students in the original languages, a craft project and LLE faculty members talking with parents about reading to children. Refreshments will be served.

This is a chance to explore our collection of children’s literature, whether professionally or as someone with a personal interest in juvenile literature. We are especially looking forward to having parents attend with their children. Currently, we are only one of two programs being offered in the state of Georgia in conjunction with El dia de los ninos/El dia de los libros.

Please contact Carla Buss (cbuss@uga.edu) if you’d like more information. Watch for posters around campus!
