Our online Interlibrary Loan request system, ILLiad, will be going through an upgrade beginning at 5pm Wednesday, June 26. We hope to be back up within a few hours. We will let you know if there are further delays. If you have any problems with the new interface, or if you have any questions, please contact Interlibrary Loan via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or call them at 706.542.0643 (Monday-Friday, 8am – 5 pm).
Students: Would you like to help us improve our web site? Would you like to earn a free $10 print/copy card? If so, please consider helping us out with some usability testing of our web site. The test involves sitting down with one of our staff and trying to complete a number of tasks on our site, while we observe and take notes, as well as sharing your opinions with us. It’s totally painless and can yield some very interesting information!
If you are a UGA student, and you are interested in this and can spare an hour at some point between May 13th and May 24th, please contact Deborah Stanley at email@example.com for more information.

Toby and Tim discussed the Georgia Writers Hall of Fame Celebration on Thursday September 27th, the Special Collections Libraries building, and the vital role of the physical library in these times of digitization.

We now have more computers on the 2nd floor of the Main Library, the Reference Department’s temporary location. Twenty-two new computers and a printer have been added in the old Government Documents microfiche area, towards the front of the building. If you need help, ask at the Reference desk, currently at south end of the 2nd floor.
The Main Library Reference Department has completed its move to its temporary new home on the 2nd floor. Computers, black and white and color printers, and a scanner are available. The entire Reference print collection is now also on the 2nd floor.
We are offering our regular service at the reference desk, which is located at the back of the building (i.e. south side) on the 2nd floor.
Please note: The Bulldog Bucks machine for purchasing or adding money to VTS print/copy cards is still in its old location on the first floor, in the old Reference Room.
The Main Library Reference Department is moving today to its temporary home on the 2nd floor. The area will offer computers for students, along with a limited number of workstations for public use, plus a scanner and one black and white and one color printer.
We will continue to offer our normal reference service in our new location at the Main Library. In addition, we are beginning to move the Reference book collection to its temporary 2nd floor location today.
(Please note: The Miller Learning Center offers hundreds of computers for the UGA community, along with guest computers for public use. To use a guest computer at the MLC, you will need to register with the security desk on the 2nd floor, next to Jittery Joe’s.)
We continue to make progress in the Main Library renovations. A protective floor covering for the lobby area was installed today. We also began construction of a dust wall through the former Reading Room area.
We are currently moving the Current Periodicals and the Leisure Reading Collection to the second floor. More information to come when these moves are complete.
The ‘Tween the Pages cafe in the Main Library student lounge is closed during the renovations. Food Services has set up a food cart in the Main Library lobby with drinks and snacks to be open Mondays-Fridays, 8:00-3:00.
