An information and referral agency that provides a telephone hotline (211) to help people locate social service agencies which assist with basic needs including food, clothing, shelter, housing, health care, mental health, and disability services.

Family Connection - Communities in Schools
The official planning and coordinating body for services for children and families in Athens-Clarke County. Family Connection-Communities In Schools is a partnership of over 100 organizations working with families to improve outcomes for all children to succeed in school and in life.

Hands On Northeast Georgia
A volunteer center that helps individuals, families, and corporate and community groups to find flexible service opportunities at various organizations in Athens-Clarke and Oconee Counties. Hands On Northeast Georgia creates, organizes, and leads meaningful service projects that positively impact the community.

ACC Department of Housing & Community Development
Strives to improve and develop viable neighborhoods by providing decent housing, a suitable living environment, and expanding economic opportunities for low-to-moderate income families. Helps overcome barriers to full-time regular employment and encourages the establishment and growth of local businesses in order to encourage job creation.

Action Ministries - Athens
A faith-based organization whose mission is to mobilize Clarke County communities to address the challenges of poverty by focusing on hunger relief, housing, and education.

Advantage Behavioral Health Systems
A publicly-funded provider of behavioral health, developmental disability, and addictive disease services in a ten-county area of Northeast Georgia.

The Ark
The Ark United Ministry Outreach Center serves as an extension of the religious communities of the Athens-Clarke County area by responding to neighbors who need material and personal support. Provides financial assistance to individuals and families in crisis for basic needs such as rent, utilities and prescription medicine.

Casa de Amistad
The mission of Casa de Amistad is to promote the well-being of the underserved Hispanic population in the Athens area through social services, educational programs, and community development.

Clarke County Division of Family and Children Services
DFCS investigates child abuse, finds foster homes for abused and neglected children, helps out-of-work parents get back on their feet, assists with childcare costs for low income parents, and provides support services to help troubled families.

Oasis Católico Santa Rafaela
A Catholic outreach and ministry dedicated to helping the Hispanic community of Athens by providing a range of services including transportation, food, clothing, health screenings, tutoring, interpretive services, worship opportunities, and more.

Salvation Army of Athens Georgia
An evangelical Christian organization providing social services such as emergency shelter, drug/alcohol abuse rehabilitation, rent assistance, clothing and food assistance, and disaster relief services.

Sparrow's Nest Mission
A non-profit Christian ministry that serves the at-risk population of the inner-city Athens community. Provides after-school programs, tutoring and mentoring, job counseling and placement, drug and alcohol counseling, emergency financial assistance, and more.

United Way Of Northeast Georgia

Clarke County Mentor Program
Recruits and trains volunteers to serve as mentors to students in public schools, K-12 grade. Mentors offer friendship and guidance to encourage positive choices, promote high self-esteem, support academic achievement and introduce the young person to new ideas.

Classic City Kiwanis Club
Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to serving the children of the world. Classic City Kiwanis Club provides various services for the Athens community with the primary goal of raising funds to benefit the youth of Athens.

The Cottage
Provides support services for survivors and families impacted by sexual assault and child abuse. Services include a 24-hour crisis and information hotline, medical advocacy, legal advocacy, counseling referrals, prevention education, and emergency financial assistance for basic needs.

Court Appointed Special Advocates
Athens-Oconee CASA trains and supervises community volunteers to advocate for children who are victims of family abuse or neglect. Volunteers represent the interests of children in court proceedings and strive to ensure the child has a safe, permanent home.

Easter Seals North Georgia
Provides services to ensure that all children with disabilities or other special needs and their families have equal opportunities to live, learn, work, and play in their communities.

Extra Special People
A non-profit organization with a passion for enhancing the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities. Empowers children and young adults to cultivate skills, self-confidence, and relationships through recreational therapy, community involvement, and the arts.

Foster Grandparent Program
Enables low-income older adults to receive benefits while serving children with special needs. Volunteers are placed in schools, Head Start programs, and day care centers where they mentor, tutor, and provide one-on-one support to at-risk children.

Sponsors an after-school program for students in grades PreK-3 for Latino children of the Pinewood Estates community. Tutors help children with their homework and reinforce academic skills.

Community Emergency Response Team
The CERT program helps people to respond effectively and efficiently to emergency situations by providing training in disaster preparedness. The goal is to help you protect yourself, your family, your neighbors and your neighborhood in disaster situations.

Provides confidential assistance to employees in the identification and resolution of personal or work related issues that may affect productivity and satisfaction in the work environment as well as the employee's personal well being.

PALS
Partnering Ambassadors for Life and Service is a non-profit Christian service organization that develops and conducts educational and job skills classes to equip adult women to gain stable employment.

Senior Community Service Employment Program
Provides paid part-time community service assignments for low-income persons who are 55+ years old, while promoting transition to unsubsidized employment. Trainees develop marketable skills through performing community service at non-profit agencies.

Works toward ending hunger by recovering donated food and distributing it to more than 200 non-profit human service agencies in 20 counties.

Food 2 Kids

Home Delivered Meals Program
The Home Delivered Meals Program (Meals on Wheels) helps foster independent living for disabled, homebound, and older adults in Athens.

Our Daily Bread
A community kitchen providing hot meals for more than 20 years in Athens. Serves breakfast and lunch Monday through Friday and a sack meal on the weekends. Operated by Action Ministries.

The Healing Place of Athens

Nuçi Phillips Memorial Foundation

Freedom From Bondage
A non-profit organization that operates a women's residence for recovery from alcohol and/or drug dependency. Provides a safe, sober, stabilizing environment for women with substance abuse problems.

The Healing Place of Athens
The mission of the Healing Place is to help homeless men who are addicted to drugs and alcohol to achieve productive, independent, and sober lives. Provides an overnight shelter, a Christian-based residential recovery program, transitional housing and services, and an aftercare program.

Palm House Recovery Center
A non-profit organization that provides shelter and counseling for men and women seeking treatment for alcoholism and drug abuse. Palm House provides an environment where people can become responsible, productive members of society through recovery.

Recovery Athens
