ACC Planning Department
The mission of the Planning Department is to manage community change effectively with regard to land use, transportation, historic preservation and overall development to achieve a positive environment that is productive and beneficial to all citizens of Athens-Clarke County.

ACC Planning Commission
A ten-member body composed of ACC residents appointed by the Mayor and Commission to deliberate and make recommendations regarding the Planning & Zoning code, the Comprehensive Plan, and other planning and development-related matters.

Northeast Georgia Regional Commission
NEGRC is responsible for serving the public interest of the state by promoting and implementing the comprehensive planning process. NEGRC serves a 12 county region with involvement in local and regional planning related to land use, transportation, natural resources, historic preservation, solid waste, economic development, aging and job training.

MACORTS: Madison Athens Clarke Oconee Regional Transportation Study
MACORTS is responsible for the comprehensive transportation planning process. Includes all of Athens-Clarke County, the northern half of Oconee County, and the southern portion of Madison County.
