FILMING GUIDELINES
Does your department have a thirst for knowledge and a hunger for adventure? Do you keep a secret romance for culinary delights? Can you and your colleagues fancifully fry up a savory film about FOOD? Well, now is your chance to shine.
What?
In keeping with this year’s theme, which celebrates all things edible, departmental films may consist of anything related to FOOD. All genres are welcome: comedy, mystery, science fiction, romance, cooking shows, etc.
The films will be screened at the ASSET Awards ceremony and made available to watch online via the ASSET Awards website. A prize will be given for the film selected by the audience’s votes at the ceremony.
Who?
Participation is open to groups or library departments. Departmental films this year will be coordinated in the same manner as in past years. Films will have a time limit of up to five minutes and will be screened and judged as part of the annual ASSET awards ceremony.
Participants are encouraged to use their own equipment and film their own video, but assistance is also available (see Contact below). In the event that equipment or help is needed, the department or group should have ONE contact person; this person will be responsible for arranging the filming schedule and for all communication between that department and ASSET Awards Committee.
When?
Filming assistance will be available between April 18 and May 9, 2010. Please schedule your department's appointment as early as possible. Final, edited films must be submitted by Friday, May 20, 2011.
Too much on your plate?
Departments short on time or understaffed may consider submitting simple animation videos using the popular website Xtranormal (http://www.xtranormal.com). Simply write a script, pick the scene and characters, and the software does the rest! Please save the downloadable file and send to the contact below.
