Dr. Toby Graham was named University Librarian and Associate Provost at the University of Georgia effective September 1, 2014. He has served in multiple capacities at UGA including Deputy University Librarian and Director of the Hargrett Rare Book and Manuscript Library, Acting University Librarian, and Director of the Digital Library of Georgia. He is co-director of the award-winning Civil Rights Digital Library.

Dr. Graham earned a bachelor’s degree at James Madison University and masters degrees in history and library and information science and a PhD in library and information science at the University of Alabama. He received the Alabama Author Award for Non-Fiction for his book on library segregation and is a recipient of the ALISE/Eugene Garfield and Phyllis Dain Awards for his doctoral research. Graham is a 2012 UCLA Senior Fellow and chairs the Georgia Historical Records Advisory Council.
