Repository Requests

Because the Libraries' collections continue to grow, it has become necessary to move some of the collection to another building for storage, the Libraries' Repository. GIL, the Libraries' catalog, will indicate when an item in is in the Repository.

Book or journal retrieval from the Repository can be requested at the Main Library, Science Library, or Curriculum Materials Library circulation desks, or by filling out a Repository Request Form online in the GIL@UGA Catalog. Once you pull up the item in GIL, click on the 'Use our Material Request Form' link at the bottom of the page to go to the repository request form. Any person can request a book from the Repository, regardless of their affiliation with the University.

Eligible patrons will be notified by email when an item is available for check out from the Repository. You can also check your My Account to see if your Repository request is available.

If you are planning a trip to the Library on a weekend and anticipate that you will need a Repository item, please fill out our online request form, indicating the date(s) you need the item. We will attempt to retrieve it before that time and hold it at the Circulation desk. We can also notify you when the book you requested is available; simply indicate on the form that you would like notification and provide us your phone number or email address. (where we can contact you.)

If you need to contact us regarding your request, please call the Main Library at 706-542-3256 or the Science Library at 706-542-4535, or email us at maincirc@uga.edu or science@uga.edu.
