Course Reserves Submission Guidelines

Spring 2016

To retain a reserve list from a previous semester, please complete this form by the deadline. Current course reserves will be removed at the end of the semester unless a retain list request has been received.

To place books or other materials on reserve, please follow these instructions:

  1. Lists and personal materials must be received by the reserves deadline for materials to be guaranteed available on the first day of the semester. Requests submitted after this date will be processed as quickly as possible.
  2. The UGA Libraries do not take responsibility for copyright clearance or permissions. We will scan ONE article from an issue of a journal, THREE articles from a bound volume of a journal, or ONE chapter from a book, provided that the material does not comprise a significant proportion of the work (issue, volume, or book). More information on Fair Use and Copyright can be found here.
  3. Please provide all requested bibliographic information on the Reserve List form. The names of titles listed on your syllabus should be consistent with the way they are noted on your reserve request. Personal copies of books or photocopied material will have in-house call numbers assigned when they are processed for course reserves.
  4. You will be notified when your list has been processed and the books are available for use. Please do not assign reserve readings prior to notification.

Electronic Reserves Material Guidelines

If you have requested electronic reserves, you must provide a password for your students to access these documents. It is very important that you inform your students of the password so they can easily access the materials online.

In accordance with copyright law, passwords must change each semester.
