SEMESTER

DEADLINE FOR NEW AND RETAINED RESERVE LISTS

SEMESTER START DATES

Summer 2016
05/02/2016
05/16/2016

To retain a reserve list from a previous semester, please complete this form by the deadline. Current course reserves will be removed at the end of the semester unless a retain list request has been received.

To place books or other materials on reserve, please follow these instructions:

  1. Lists and personal materials must be received by the reserves deadline for materials to be guaranteed available on the first day of the semester. Requests submitted after this date will be processed as quickly as possible.
  2. The UGA Libraries are not responsible for copyright clearance or permissions. We will scan ONE article from an issue of a journal, THREE articles from a bound volume of a journal, or ONE chapter from a book, provided that the material does not comprise a significant proportion of the work (issue, volume, or book). More information on Fair Use and Copyright can be found here.
  3. Please provide all requested bibliographic information on the Reserve List form. The names of titles listed on the class syllabus should be consistent with the way they are noted on the reserve request. Personal copies of books or photocopied material will have in-house call numbers assigned when they are processed for course reserves.
  4. Instructors will be notified when their reserve lists have been processed and items are available for use.

Electronic Reserves Material Guidelines

For electronic reserves, please provide a password for students to access the documents. In accordance with copyright law, passwords are required for e-reserves and must change each semester.

Instructors may choose to have reserves imported into the eLC as a module instead of the GIL catalog. If you are interested in this new service, please check the eLC option on the online reserve form or contact the Course Reserves department at 706-542-2081 for more information.
